Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones could be done for the season after suffering a knee injury during his team's loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon, according to Ryan Wood of The Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Jones said the injury is “similar” to the torn MCL which kept him out two games last year. Of course, with only two games remaining in the regular season and the Packers now out of playoff contention, that would mean he is out for the rest of the year.

Jones carried the ball four times for eight yards before exiting.

Even if Jones is well enough to play in one of the final two contests, it wouldn't make much sense for Green Bay to throw him out there, as the team is playing for nothing but pride at this point, and preserving Jones would be wise.

The 24-year-old had a pretty impressive season overall, rushing for 728 yards off of 133 carries. He also scored eight touchdowns on the ground and found the end zone once as a receiver while catching 26 passes for 206 yards.

Jones, who played his collegiate football at UTEP, was originally selected by the Packers in the fifth round (182nd pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played in 12 games during his rookie campaign, totaling 448 yards and four scores while recording 5.5 yards per carry.

The Packers currently own a record of 5-8-1 and will be miss the playoffs for the second straight year, marking the first time that has occurred since 2006. They will take on the New York Jets next week.
