The Green Bay Packers may not be known as a team that has one of the most dynamic running backs in the league, but Aaron Jones has quietly become one of the most impressive backs in just two short years in the league. A new stat shared by Pro Football Focus only helps corroborate that fact.

According to the analytical company, Jones averaged 2.50 yards before contact last season, which is the second-best rate in the entire league. Thanks to his innate shiftiness at the line of scrimmage, Jones has quickly become one of the more intriguing backs in the league, especially with new head coach Matt LaFleur coming into Green Bay.
Article Continues BelowAlthough the Packers will never be a team that fully dedicates itself to the running game with Aaron Rodgers there, LaFleur has said that he would love to be more balanced in how the offense attacks opponents. In order to achieve this, the Packers will need their duo of Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams to be healthy and effective.
Thankfully, it seems as if both are up for the task, as early reports out of OTAs suggest that the pair not only look good on the field, but off of it as well. According to multiple players, the pair of running backs have trimmed down considerably, and bulked up in the muscle department. For Jones, it’ll all be about staying consistent throughout the year.
After ascending to number one on the depth chart, Jones ran for 728 yards and eight touchdowns in 2018 despite being suspended for the first four games for violating the NFL's Substance Abuse Policy. With all of his issues in the rearview mirror, Jones looks like he can become the difference maker the Packers need behind Rodgers, and can help lead the team back into the playoffs.
