It was a move that shocked the NFL, but one that many fans in Green Bay had seen coming all season long.
Now, as potential candidates are beginning to be rumored, there are quite a few hot take ideas. One of the latest ideas comes from Sports Illustrated, who suggested that Nick Saban would be the ideal coach for the Packers.
The article points out that Saban has already mastered the college football world and could want another shot at winning the Lombardi Trophy. It also states that Saban may be Aaron Rodgers' best shot at competing for another ring or two.

Obviously, rumors have come out in the past about Saban leaving Alabama to return to the NFL. He has not shown much interest in leaving his comfortable job with the Crimson Tide, but the Packers can offer him an opportunity that most football coaches would have a tough time turning down.

Green Bay needs to hit a home run with their coaching hire this offseason. Rodgers is already 34 years old and he isn't getting any younger. If the Packers want to compete for a Super Bowl, Saban could be the right guy.
