Houston Texans running back Darius Anderson was charged with burglary with intent to commit assault. He was arrested after breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home. Anderson's ex-girlfriend said the incident took place on July 15th.

According to the police reported obtained by TMZ, Anderson's ex-girlfriend ran and grabbed a gun after he broke into the home. She said she fell down some stairs after Darius Anderson forced his way into the house. She never pointed the gun at him, but wanted to make sure Anderson never got access to it.

She stated that the running back told her he was going to ‘beat her up.'

Anderson was originally charged with intent to commit rape. NFL insider Aaron Wilson explained why the charge was changed from intent to rape to intent to assault.

The case involving Texans running back Darius Anderson has been updated to burglary with intent to commit assault, per Houston Police, who attributed the original charge entered of burglary with intent to commit rape to coding error. An arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday

Wilson also shared the Houston Texans official statement on the Darius Anderson situation.

“We are aware of the report involving Darius Anderson. We are gathering information and have no further comment at this time.”

Anderson was a star during his time at TCU in college. He has bounced around in the NFL but was hoping to make the Texans active roster this season. But his NFL future is in doubt following this news. We will provide more details as this story develops.
