The Houston Texans seemingly found themselves in a shaky situation after the franchise previously parted ways with former head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien. Former assistant head coach Romeo Crennel was eventually instated as the team's interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

However, it remains uncertain if he will indeed keep the job for next season. Texans CEO Cal McNair has been seeking the opinion of his quarterback in Deshaun Watson regarding the possible candidates for the head coaching position along with the direction that the team will be heading to moving forward.

Via Adam Schefter of ESPN:

“McNair told ESPN this past week that he recently had dinner with Watson, and the direction of the Texans' franchise came up during their conversation. McNair wanted to hear Watson's thoughts and opinions on who should be the next head coach, and Watson shared his opinions with McNair.”

“McNair told ESPN that he welcomes Watson's input, respects his opinion and wants the star quarterback to be happy.”

Crennel has been coming out with valiant efforts from the sidelines ever since taking over the head coaching reins back in Week 5. He has since tallied a 3-3 record until Week 11 proceedings of the 2020 NFL season.

The Texans are fresh from tallying their third win of the season via a 27-20 rout at the expense of the New England Patriots. They are hoping to close out their 2020 campaign with respectable performances in their remaining games.

Despite the cloud of uncertainty looming over their heads, Deshaun Watson's opinion will most likely have a major impact on the direction that the Texans will take in the coming seasons.
