The Kansas City Chiefs have once again emerged from the offseason as one of the best contenders in the NFL. General manager Brett Veach and head coach Andy Reid have done a great job retaining and adding talent to a roster that made the AFC Championship last season. Despite that, there are a couple of moves the Chiefs could make to add some finishing touches to the team. With that being said, here are two moves Kansas City should make to complete their roster.

Chiefs Moves After 2022 NFL Draft
2. Sign Julio Jones
One of the Chiefs' more controversial moves this offseason was trading star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Hill was a huge contributor to Kansas City's offense, and his production won't be replaced easily. The Chiefs did bring in JuJu Smith-Schuster and rookie Skyy Moore to try and fill the void. That likely won't be enough. The Kansas City depth chart isn't exactly loaded with talent, as the guys behind the starters are anything but sure things. Josh Gordon and Justyn Ross are both complete wild cards, so the Chiefs should add more depth at one of the most important positions on the field.
Jones is one of the best free agent pass catchers on the market. It helps that he's at a stage in his career that he should be willing to take a one-year deal with a contender. Jones won't require a ton of money, and he would provide an instant upgrade at the position. The longtime Atlanta Falcons receiver would also provide a strong veteran presence in a wide receiver group that is sorely lacking just that. Jones wouldn't be expected to play a huge role for the Chiefs, so it would be a fairly low-risk signing.
1. Sign Jaquiski Tartt
One area the Chiefs shouldn't be done addressing is the safety position. The Chiefs lost one of the best safeties in all of football, Tyrann Mathieu, to free agency. They signed Justin Reid and drafted Bryan Cook, but that isn't enough to secure the position.
They're currently set to start Reid and Juan Thornhill, but that's a cause for concern. Thornhill has a history of injuries, and Reid doesn't always have a clean bill of health. Cook may not be ready to play a high volume of snaps as a rookie, so it's there's definitely risk at the position.
That's where Tartt comes in. Tartt played great football in 2021, and he has a ton left in the tank. It's fair to say that he's still a starting-caliber player, but the Chiefs wouldn't need him to fill that role. Tartt would primarily play special teams and provide a veteran presence at a position filled with young players.
When one of the Kansas City starters inevitably gets injured, Tartt would be able to step in right away. He could even fill a dime linebacker role should the need arise. It also helps that Tartt wouldn't demand a huge contract. There's not much of a market for him, so the Chiefs should be able to pay a relatively low price for his services.
