Everyone and their grandmother knew that the Kansas City Chiefs needed to give quarterback Patrick Mahomes a revamped offensive line after what happened in the Super Bowl. The team has done an admirable job so far this offseason and even recently traded for tackle Orlando Brown Jr.

While the team has one of the more complete rosters in the league, there will always be room for improvement. Below are three options for Kansas City as in the 2021 NFL Draft when they make their second round pick at no.58.

3. Carlos Basham, EDGE, Wake Forest

One of the things going right for the Chiefs' defense is that because their offense is so explosive, opposing teams usually have to play more aggressively than usual in order to catch up. This means that the defense can more easily predict passing plays.

The downside is that the pass rush seems to have regressed last season. The team struggled to generate pressure on the passer without blitzing, which was easily exploited by better quarterbacks. Kansas City could use an additional pass rusher to complement Chris Jones and Frank Clark.

Carlos Basham stands at around 6-foot-5 and comes in at 285 pounds. He displays impressive quickness for his size and has several moves he uses to beat his blocker. Basham has the versatility to slide in the interior and play alongside Jones. He is also a solid run defender and plays with power.

While he is quick with sudden movements that can throw off offensive linemen, Basham does not possess elite speed, which many coaches look for in an edge defender.

2. Jamin Davis, LB, Kentucky

The Kansas City linebacker corps could use an upgrade and a shot to the arm of athleticism and young talent. Because of the Chiefs' incendiary offense, many teams will try to run the ball against them to milk the clock and prevent Mahomes from getting the ball. Kansas City is below average when it comes to stopping the run, but adding a high-upside linebacker prospect can help fix that.

Jamin Davis is one of those players that rises up the draft board late every year. He displays fantastic athleticism and has an ideal build of 6'3, 234 pounds.

Davis has that elite sideline-to-sideline speed and looks like he is all over the place. He has long arms that help him in coverage and disrupt plays. Moreover, he has the tools to be impactful in the run game.

His play recognition, especially in rushing situations, could use some polishing. Once he becomes better at this and combined with his physical tools, the Chiefs will have a promising linebacker duo of Davis and Willie Gay moving forward.

1. Nick Bolton, LB, Missouri

At 6-feet and 235 pounds, Bolton is a playmaking defender who has a nose for the ball. Like Davis, he is also an athletic linebacker and has good sideline-to-sideline speed. He is a physical presence in the run game and is a big hitter in general.

Bolton is adept at blitzing the quarterback from the middle and his playstyle overall is a good fit with the Chiefs.

His man and zone coverage skills can be further refined, though.
