Who says there is no parity in the NFL? The Kansas City Chiefs are in the divisional round of the 2019 NFL Playoffs. They are the only team in the round this year that made it that far the year prior.
Only one of last year’s final eight teams made it to the final eight this year: the Chiefs.

Last season, the Chiefs faced off with the Indianapolis Colts in the divisional round. The Dallas Cowboys squared off with the Los Angeles Rams.
Then the next day, the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots went to battle, while the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints went head-to-head.
Now it will be the Chiefs face the Houston Texans.
The other games in addition to Chiefs-Texans are between the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers, as well as the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens. Finally, the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers will face each other.
Article Continues BelowOf course, this does not really mean much in the grand scheme of things. Both the Packers and Seahawks have had tons of playoff experience (and success) in recent years. The Vikings were in the NFC Championship game just a few seasons ago as well, and the Ravens were in the postseason last year.
What this really shows is that the NFL is starting to have a new regime. Maybe the days of the Patriots making it to the AFC Championship game every year are finally over. Could we start seeing the reign of the Chiefs and the Ravens? Are the Titans here to stay?
What about the up-and-coming 49ers on the NFC side? And how much longer do the Packers have with Aaron Rodgers?
A lot of questions can be asked when looking at the difference between this year and last season. Maybe we start to get the answer to some of those questions by this time next week. The Chiefs hope they can make one extra step and reach the Super Bowl.
