Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has now reached yet another historic feat in his five-season run with the team.

Mahomes entered the Chiefs' Week 18 road clash against the Denver Broncos with 149 passing touchdowns in 62 career games played. The one-time NFL MVP winner has notched three campaigns with at least 30-plus touchdown passes, which include the ongoing season as well.

Mahomes managed to record the landmark 150th passing touchdown of his already impressive career in the first quarter of the contest, as he connected with tight end Travis Kelce for a pivotal 3-yard score.

Mahomes made history with this key throw, as he became the second-fastest quarterback ever to record at least 150 touchdown passes. The fifth-year passer reached this figure in 63 games played, which falls a mere one game short of longtime Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino's all-time record.

This sure is quite an impressive achievement for Mahomes considering that the likes of Hall of Fame quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Joe Montana were not able to reach this feat. Manning recorded 109 passing touchdowns in his opening 63 career games, while Montana tallied for 64 passing touchdowns in his such contests. Granted, Montana did not emerge as a regular starter until his third campaign with the San Francisco 49ers.

For now, Mahomes sure is looking ahead to the NFL playoffs, where he will aim to lead the Chiefs to a third consecutive Super Bowl appearance – a task that both Manning and Montana did not accomplish over their respective careers.
