Patrick Mahomes is having another spectacular season for the Kansas City Chiefs but injuries have prevented him from playing a couple of games. Despite the injury, he still has the fourth-best odds to win the NFL's MVP Award, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Back in Week 7, Mahomes suffered a dislocated kneecap after getting landed on during a quarterback sneak. As a result, the Chiefs' young quarterback was sidelined for the team's next two games.

After missing two weeks of action, Mahomes returned to the field in Week 10 versus the Tennessee Titans. Without showing any signs of rust, the gunslinging quarterback aired it out for 446 yards and three touchdowns against the Titans.

With that game, Mahomes has thrown for 2,626 yards, 18 touchdowns, and only one interception this season. Provided that, he is on track to conclude the season with a total of 4,595 yards, nearly 32 touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Of course, Mahomes is the reigning MVP of the NFL when he shredded the NFL in his first season as the starter of the Chiefs. Last season, he left his mark on the NFL with 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Following that, many people believed that there would be a slight drop-off for Mahomes in 2019. While they are technically right in terms of numbers, he is still putting up impressive outings each and every week.

Along with his own injury, Kansas City's offensive line has also been beaten up with injuries. Therefore, it's even more impressive that Mahomes has been able to post the numbers he has so far.

The Chiefs face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football and Mahomes can continue to make his case for the MVP award.
