Just one day after suffering the team's first loss of the 2019 regular season, the Kansas City Chiefs have made a roster move. According to a report from Tom Pelissero of NFL.com, the Chiefs have signed veteran defensive tackle Terrell McClain.

Leading to such a signing, the Chiefs are expected to be without fellow defensive lineman Chris Jones and Xavier Williams for an extended period of time due to respective injuries.

Over the course of his professional career, McClain has produced over 127 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. A nine-year NFL veteran, the longtime defensive lineman spent last season with the Atlanta Falcons before spending this past offseason in the desert as a member of the Arizona Cardinals. In addition to both the Falcons and Cardinals, McClain has also spent time with the Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins during his time atop the highest level.

It is also worth noting that McClain was originally selected by the aforementioned Panthers in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of the University of South Florida. Since that time, he has continued to serve as a viable presence in the middle despite bouncing around the league.

As for the Chiefs as a whole, Kansas City is now 4-1 on the season through the first five weeks of the year. Prior to losing to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football in Week 5, the Chiefs rattled off four consecutive wins to start the regular season.
