The Kansas City Chiefs are closing in on a trip to the Super Bowl. A good chunk of their success this season has been due to the efforts of their two young stars in wide receiver Tyreek Hill and defensive tackle Chris Jones.

As a result, it should come as no surprise to hear that the Chiefs have included handing out long-term deals for both Hill and Jones among their key priority this offseason, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

“No doubt [Hill]’s going to be one of the highest-paid, if not the highest-paid receivers in the NFL,” Rapoport said.

Hill has had a terrific third season for the Chiefs, racking up 1,479 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 87 catches — all career-highs — as he made First-Team All-Pro. With that sort of production, the former fifth-round pick is arguably the biggest bargain in the league as he’s set to make just $720,000 in the final year of his rookie deal next season.

As the Chiefs showed by handing Sammy Watkins a massive $48 million deal in free agency last year, they’re willing to pay top dollar for receiving talent. Given Hill’s importance to the team, it’s safe to expect that he will make significantly more than Watkins in his next deal.

Meanwhile, Jones has also had a breakout third season. The former third-round pick posted 40 tackles and 15.5 sacks this season. He also famously broke the NFL record for consecutive games with a sack as he had at least one in 10 straight games.

Like Hill, Jones is also on a bargain rookie contract. He’ll make just under $1 million this year and will make $1.2 million in the final year of his deal in 2019. But after this season’s performance, he’s set to get a huge raise.
