Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt has reportedly chosen to enter counseling following his release from the franchise.
From NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport:
According to sources with knowledge of his situation, Hunt entered into counseling this week for alcohol and anger management. While it's a long process and there is no resolution expected any time soon, it does show he acknowledges the seriousness of his situation. Hunt knows his every move will be scrutinized.
Hunt was released by the Chiefs on Dec. 1 after a TMZ video surfaced that showed him kicking and shoving a woman at a Cleveland hotel earlier this year.
The second-year pro was then placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List, which prevents him from playing or attending games should he be signed by another team.

Hunt led the NFL in rushing yards during his rookie season in 2017, and he put together another productive campaign this year with 181 carries for 824 yards and seven touchdowns. He also secured 26 receptions for 378 yards and seven touchdowns.
There are plenty of unknowns when it comes to Hunt's eventual return to the league, and it may be a while before we know what his status will be moving forward due to him going the counseling route to solve some of the ongoing issues.
His former team will take the field on Sunday for an important AFC showdown against the Baltimore Ravens.
