After a couple of NFL games over the weekend were postponed due to COVID-19 positive tests on a number of players on the participating teams, the Monday night matchup between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs was likewise in danger of being canceled. Fortunately, new reports have confirmed that the show will go on for these two sides.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported that the Patriots players have all tested negative, and have been given the green light to proceed for their match on Monday:

Such is the state of the NFL these days, that teams only find out if they're actually playing or not literally hours prior to the game. This has undoubtedly had some sort of adverse effect on the teams and the players, but in light of the pandemic, this is likely going to be the norm moving forward.

On Sunday, the contest between the New Orleans Saints and the Detroit Lions were also in danger of being suspended. A number of Saints players tested positive for COVID-19 which, fortunately, turned out to be false positives after the said players' second round of testing yielded negative results.

The Chiefs hosting the Pats has been one of the most highly-anticipated matchups of late, and we have to thank our lucky stars that these two teams will take the field on Monday.
