If you are active on Twitter, then you are aware that Dez Bryant is interested in a return to the NFL. The former star wide receiver has not been shy about putting his feelings out there about playing again. During a full slate of Week 16 games, Bryant responded to a tweet expressing his interest in returning to the Dallas Cowboys.
Bryant also shared four teams that he is curious about. Those teams were the Baltimore Ravens, New Orlean Saints, New England Patriots, and Kansas City Chiefs. It is no surprise that Bryant wants to play for a contender in hopes of getting a Super Bowl ring. It would certainly behoove him to join one of the league's best offenses in Kansas City.
The Chiefs should have Bryant on their radar. They are averaging 28 points per game which is fourth in the NFL. Kansas City is also fourth in total offense and passing yards per game. They have one of the best offenses led by Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill.
After Hill, there is a significant drop-off at the receiver position. Sammy Watkins is third on the team in catches (51) and receiving yards (665) but he is no Bryant.
Should KC Look at Bryant?
Who can forget the three-year stretch that Bryant had in Dallas? He totaled 3,935 yards and 41 touchdowns from 2012-2014. He was one of the best receivers in the game and rivaled Calvin Johnson as the top red-zone threat. With Bryant, there is more of s concern off the field when looking back to his final seasons in Dallas.
The Cowboys organization is a mess. There is no surprise that Bryant was forced out when looking at who is running the team. Bryant needs to go to a team that has a capable front office and a coach that is in control, which is the complete opposite of Jason Garrett. Andy Reid and the Chiefs immediately come to mind.
Bryant is 31 years old. He still has some years left, especially since he has not seen action since 2017. During that season, Bryant played all 16 games and caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns. There are plenty of teams that would sign up for that kind of production.
The Chiefs could line Bryant up opposite of Hill. This would give them their speedster, deep threat on one side with their big-bodied, reliable receiver on the other. In the red zone, teams would have to account for both Kelce and Bryant. This would take Kansas City's offense to another level.
