Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen is expected to return when the Vikings take on the Kansas City Chiefs next week, according to Chris Tomasson of The St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Thielen missed the first game of his NFL career on Thursday night due to a hamstring issue, an injury he suffered during his team's victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 7.

In the seven games he has played this season, Thielen has logged 27 catches for 391 yards and six touchdowns.

The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Minnesota State, went undrafted but eventually landed with Minnesota in 2014.

He received only scarce playing time during his rookie campaign, tallying eight catches for 137 yards and a touchdown. He posted similar numbers in 2015, finishing with 12 grabs for 144 yards.

It wasn't his third season that Thielen finally broke out, as he caught 68 passes for 967 yards and five scores in 2016.

Then, the following year, Thielen was even better, hauling in 91 receptions for 1,276 yards while reaching the end zone four times, making his first Pro Bowl appearance in the process.

The Detroit Lakes, Mn. native proceeded to have the best season of his career to date in 2018, snaring 113 balls for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns, earning his second straight trip to the Pro Bowl.

The Vikings improved to 6-2 with their win over the Washington Redskins on Thursday evening and have now won four games in a row.

After taking on the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 9, Minnesota head to Dallas to battle the Cowboys on Nov. 10.
