After a 13-3 season last year the Minnesota Vikings have started this campaign 4-3-1 and although they won't have as many wins as last year, Mike Zimmer isn't disappointed. Zimmer said on Monday he likes what he has seen from his team the last few weeks and thinks it's turning into a pretty good football team.
“I’m not disappointed,” Zimmer said, via the Pioneer Press. “It is what it is. We’ve got eight more games to go, and that will always determine what we end up doing.”
The Vikings have actually played well and even against the New Orleans Saints the team played well and if it wouldn't have been for the turnovers they probably would have won the game. The Vikings held Drew Brees to only 120 yards receiving, one touchdown, and one interception. After a sloppy start to the season, the Vikings looks like the one last year that locked down and helped lead the team to the NFC Championship game.
Kirk Cousins also looks like one of the best signings of the offseason. He has thrown for 2521 yards, 16 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He has a good relationship with Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen and most teams have had a hard time slowing them down.
The NFC North is competitive and the Vikings next three games are all against in-division rivals. If the team can go 3-0 or 2-1 in the next three games they should be in good shape to take down another division title, and maybe Zimmer is right, this team is just getting started.
