Stefon Diggs has grown frustrated with his role in the Minnesota Vikings offense and decided to skip out on meetings and practices this week. Despite his short absence from the team, Minnesota did not void Diggs' $40 million in guarantees per Ian Rapoport.
On the #Vikings and WR Stefon Diggs: Though they did fine him for missing meetings and practice, they did not void his $40M in guarantees, sources say. He failed to practice, so they could have by rule. But the team elected not to push that button for their home-grown talent.

There was a somewhat similar situation between the Oakland Raiders and Antonio Brown earlier in the season. In that situation, after the team fined him over $200,000, Brown was released and his nearly $30 million in guarantees was voided.
However, in this situation, Minnesota is doing everything they can to mend their relationship with Diggs. Additionally, Diggs hasn't caused nearly as much drama as Brown did with the Raiders. The Vikings didn't void his $40 million in guaranteed money.
But they did fine him over $200,000 for purposely missing practices and meetings.
In the past couple of weeks, the frustration has continued to permeate for the Vikings wide receivers. Enough so, that Diggs stated that there is “truth to all rumors” when asked about the trade rumors involving him earlier this week.
Over the first four weeks of the season, Minnesota has the 31st ranked passing offense. That is asinine considering the Vikings offense has a bevy of offensive weapons at Cousins' disposal.
Even though it appears that Diggs wants to be shipped elsewhere, the Vikings have remained adamant about keeping their talented wide receiver. Of course, there are teams who would be interested in acquiring his services. But Minnesota has yet to show any signs of wanting to pick up the phone.
With that in mind, maybe allowing him to keep his guaranteed money coupled with a productive performance against the New York Giants in Week 5 could change Diggs' outlook for the team.
