The Minnesota Vikings are coming off their first NFC Championship game appearance in eight years, and the front office continues to add pieces to the puzzle this offseason. Much of the organization's focus has come through bringing aboard more proven talent.

With the free-agent market dwindling down, the Vikings have shifted their attention toward players who can provide much-needed depth to the roster. According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Vikings brought in veteran wide receiver Kendall Wright for a visit on Thursday afternoon.

Wright is coming off his lone season with the Chicago Bears where he recorded 59 catches on 91 targets for 614 receiving yards with touchdown reception while playing in all 16 regular season games for the first time since 2013 It marked the fourth time that he has hauled in more than 55 receptions and at least 600 receiving yards in his first six years in the league. What is also encouraging is that he appeared to get past his previous injuries, as he had missed 11 games over the two previous seasons due to leg-related issues while playing with the Tennessee Titans.

The possible addition of Wright could give Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins another proven offensive weapon that has shown that he can be a reliable asset in the aerial game. He could step as the third option, playing in the slot behind Stefon Diggs and Pro Bowler Adam Thielen. The Vikings currently have just four wide receivers under contract for next season in Diggs, Thielen, Laquon Treadwell, and Stacy Coley.

The intrigue of possibly becoming a key piece of a formidable offense for a possible Super Bowl contender could lead to a contract being worked out between both sides in the near future. Minnesota still has plenty of salary cap space to offer him a reasonable deal with more than $21 million still available this offseason.
