New York Jets CEO Christopher Johnson has responded to the team’s supposed interest in Jim Harbaugh to be their next head coach.
Johnson has flat-out denied a recent report linking the Jets to Harbaugh and says “Todd Bowles is our head coach.”

Bowles’ future in New York has been in serious doubt for some time now. The Jets have gone a disappointing 1-7 after starting the season 3-3. He previously had the highest odds to be the next head coach fired.
Article Continues BelowHowever, they have been much more significant in recent weeks. Their last three losses have all come by a single score, including their 44-38 overtime defeat to the Green Bay Packers.
Harbaugh also recently came out by saying he’s not leaving the University of Michigan to return to the NFL next season. But despite that public declaration, he has still continued to be linked with head coaching jobs around the league.
It remains to be seen whether Johnson is really telling the truth about Harbaugh. But while it might be true that they don’t have interest in the former 49ers coach, they may still be looking at other potential candidates to replace Bowles. Mike McCarthy is another big name that’s recently been linked with Gang Green.
Given Sam Darnold’s promising play of late, not to mention a huge swath of cap space this coming offseason, the Jets job should be quite a desirable landing spot for available head coaching candidates.
