New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson found himself being criticized on Sunday after a controversial decision late in the fourth quarter to try and run the ball himself rather than hand it off to running back Braxton Berrios.
The Jets ended up losing 28-24 to Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and although many were calling Wilson selfish for his mistake, head coach Robert Saleh fully came to his defense.

If you’re talking year three, year four and he does something like that, then I guess you can start, maybe. But as a rookie who’s still trying to figure this league out and trying to figure what he can and can’t get away with and how to take control over things and all that. He’s nowhere close to that in terms of a selfish player. He wants to get better, he’ll learn from this.”
What really went through the Jets rookie's mind during that play we'll never know, but Salah insists he is a team player. After all, it is his first season in the NFL and mistakes are going to happen. That was definitely one.
