Philadelphia Eagles defensive Chris Long end plans to do a Steph Curry should the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the New England Patriots next Sunday in Super Bowl LII. Like the Golden State Warriors point guard, Long will not make a trip to the White House if his team pulls off an upset victory at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, according to Long himself during a Monday appearance on Barstool Sports’ show ‘Pardon My Take.’

PFT Commenter asked, “If you guys win the Super Bowl, are you going to the White House?”

“No, I'm not going to the White House,” Long replied. “Are you kidding me?”

It can be recalled that Chris Long had already done this before. As part of the Patriots team that won the Super Bowl a year ago, Long decided not to join Tom Brady and his teammates in their visit to the official presidential residence as a form of expression of his dislike for US President Donald Trump and his agendas.

While not mandatory, the champions of the four major US professional leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) have made it an annual tradition to make a yearly trek to the White House. Trump, however, is a divisive political and social figure in the country that even the benign act of visiting the White House has become a polarizing issue of its own at least within the sports world.

For now, the main focus of Long and the Eagles is not on meeting the president, but rather on taking down the dynastic Patriots squad.
