Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long is well-known for the tatted arm sleeves he sports on Sundays. Now it seems he could be ready to make a new addition.

Prior to the 2017 NFL season, Long had been reunited with his former defensive coordinator in Ken Flajole, who now serves as the Eagles' linebackers coach. According to ESPN's Tim McManus, Long and Flajole jokingly made a bet that may soon come to fruition:

“When Chris came [to Philadelphia], we were just talking, and I think it was probably training camp, and I probably told him something to the extent of, ‘Hey, nothing would be better than to raise the Lombardi Trophy with you.' And he said, ‘Hey, if we go to the Super Bowl and win, I'll put a tattoo of your face on my body,'” Flajole recalled. “I said, ‘OK, Chris, you better be careful now, because you never know how these things turn sometimes.'”

Long added that he will not be surprised if Flajole forces him to be a man of his word.

A lot of people were like, ‘Were you betting that you’re not going to win?’ It wasn’t really a bet,” Long said. “I was joking, and he held me to it, and he reminded me this week. It will be a good problem to have. … Yeah [he’ll hold me to it], he’s a tough dude. He’s not going to give me any slack, hopefully.”

Fortunately, it is not as if they are complete strangers. Long and Flajole became acquainted with one another after the latter was brought on as the St. Louis Rams' defensive coordinator following the former's rookie season. The veteran defensive end enjoyed the best season of his career under the former coordinator after he registered 13.0 sacks and two pass deflections in 2011.

Both have come a long way since their tumultuous tenures with the Rams. Although their wager was all made in good fun earlier in the season, the Eagles are now locked in on pulling off an upset in Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots this Sunday. Needless to say, the decision on whether or not to go through with the tattoo will be the hardest part of Long potentially winning his second championship in a row.
