There are many intriguing storylines surrounding Super Bowl 52. Among the most notable is the fact that Philadelphia Eagles' running back LeGarrette Blount and defensive end Chris Long have not only made it to their second straight Super Bowl, but they will be facing off against their former team in the New England Patriots.

As a result, they have the opportunity to join an exclusive club headed by NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. According to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Blount actually caught up with Sanders to discuss getting to potentially make history a few times over:

“I’m trying to get back to back,” Blount said. “I was a part of the team that won last year. They’re back again and I’m back again. I want it as bad as they do.”

There are three other members outside of Sanders that are also in this elite club. However, their induction can be credited more to a luck of the draw rather than actually having a profound impact on the team. Needless to say, that does not apply to “Primetime.”

Sanders accomplished this rare feat in the mid-1990s after winning Super Bowl 29 with the San Francisco 49ers and Super Bowl 30 with the Dallas Cowboys the following season. Some may say he was even the difference-maker after helping to defeat each of his former teams in order to make the trip.

That said, Blount and Long have each been an integral part of the Eagles' surprising run this season. However, time will tell if they can prove to be difference-makers like Sanders was.
