The Philadelphia Eagles lost their starting left tackle for the season on Thursday as rising sophomore offensive lineman Andre Dillard injured his biceps.
Dillard will be forced to undergo premature season-ending surgery and miss the 2020 campaign for Philadelphia, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
#Eagles left tackle Andre Dillard will miss this season with a biceps injury suffered in practice today, sources say. @RealDGunn first on the injury earlier. Tests revealed the team’s fears were warranted. Surgery needed. Tough one for last year’s first-round pick.

Dillard, 24, was selected with the 22nd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Eagles last year, subsequently appearing in all 16 regular-season games for the NFC East club in his rookie campaign.
With Dillard's injury, it begs the question of who will protect franchise quarterback Carson Wentz's blindside, although veteran offensive lineman Jason Peters is available to take the now-vacated spot.

The blows don't stop coming for the Eagles, with their offensive line in dire straits. This is a group that is supposed to protect Wentz, who has his own long history of injuries, with only three weeks until the 2020 season's opening week.
Further, the Eagles elected to go offense during the 2020 NFL Draft earlier this year in May, taking wide receiver Jalen Reagor in the first round then, controversially, Oklahoma standout quarterback Jalen Hurts. The Eagles didn't take an offensive lineman until the fourth round with 145th overall pick in Auburn guard Jack Driscoll. Philly later selected his teammate in Auburn tackle Prince Tega Wanogho in the sixth round.
It's going to be a frustrating season with the Eagles' patchwork offensive line.
