The Pittsburgh Steelers have put up a tarp in the vicinity of their practice field, the purpose of which can be perceived as the team’s way of addressing its espionage paranoia.
Speaking in front of reporters after a Steelers practice on Thursday, head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t offer any particular explanation for the tarp setup, but his answer to inquiries about it pretty much bordered on suspicion that there might be others who are spying on his team, per Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com.

There’s nothing wrong about the Steelers taking extra precaution in making sure that they’re the only ones who know their own plays. Sure, it sounds a bit over the top (no pun intended) to take such a measure to block the view of a flying robot, but if that’s what makes Tomlin and the Steelers feel secure and comfortable, then what’s there to stop them from covering their practice in a tarp?
Or maybe, the Steelers can just use any drones hovering above them as targets for their quarterbacks during practice.
Welcome to 2018.
