Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt left the 33-3 Week 1 loss to the New England Patriots earlier with a hip injury, according to Steelers Director of Communications Burt Lauten. It is unknown to the severity of the injury.

Watt finished the game with two combined tackles and, as usual, caused continues pressure on Tom Brady off the edge. Before the game, the Patriots head coach Bill Belichick called him one of the best players his team will face all year.

“He's fast. He's explosive. He's strong but he's quick. He can avoid players. Plays with good leverage. He's quick enough to move around guys and he's powerful enough to play through them. He has a good skill set. He's a very instinctive a player. He's a good pass rusher, has a high motor, comes hard on every play. He does a lot of things well. One of the best guys we'll face all year,” Belichick said, per Nick Boss of NBC Sports Boston.

The Patriots, at least on the scoreboard, did an excellent job limiting one of the better players they will face. However, the question lies of how severe and impactful the hip injury will be.

Watt has missed just one game in his career (his rookie year). He did so due to a groin. The third-year pass-rusher started 2019 training camp on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list with a hamstring injury and returned ten days later. If he's out for an extended period, the Steelers will be without their leading sack getter from 2018 (13).
