The San Francisco 49ers are the number one seed in the playoffs and all the pressure is on quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to perform. With the number one seed comes a lot of pressure and anything less than an appearance in the Super Bowl would make the 49ers season a failure.

There are some key questions surrounding Garoppolo that need to be answered. Let's break them down.

3. Can Garopplo win if the running game isn't there?

Garoppolo is a good quarterback, but a quick look at the stats show the 49ers actually have more success running the ball. On the season, the 49ers are averaging 144.1 yards per game, which is second in the league.

What if the Minnesota Vikings or their next opponent take away the running game? Can he lead the team to a victory using his arm or will he struggle?

The 49ers better hope he can, because there is a good chance teams are going to dare Garoppolo to beat them by focusing on taking away the run.

2. Will the interception problem creep up against at the worst time?

The big issue all season for Garoppolo was his interceptions. He finished the regular season with 13 interceptions, and in three games he had two interceptions. For 95 percent of the game, he is making the right decisions, but there is still the five percent where he makes a terrible decision and it hurts the team.

If he does that against the Vikings, their defense is going to take advantage. If Garoppolo can limit the interceptions, this team has all the tools to win the Super Bowl.

1. How will Garoppolo handle the playoff pressure?

Garoppolo has been in the league since 2014 and has appeared in 42 games. 26 of those games Garoppolo started, but this will be his first time starting a playoff game.

Having regular season success and winning big time games is important, but it's a whole different animal when the playoffs roll around. One bad throw or fumble can cost the team its season, where as the regular season it might have just meant a loss.

How will Garoppolo handle that? Is he going to be okay with the pressure and nerves that come with it, or is it all going to become too much?

If the pressure becomes too much, the 49ers will be knocked out by the Vikings and the season will be a failure. If he can handle the pressure, this should be a great postseason.
