The San Francisco 49ers are about to engage in perhaps the most intriguing matchup of the 2019 NFL season when they travel to take on the Baltimore Ravens. Fortunately, it appears they will be close to full strength on the offensive side of the ball.

Pettis had picked up a knee injury during practice heading into Week 13. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, it is not deemed to be too serious:

49ers WR Dante Pettis, who left Wednesday’s practice to get his knee evaluated, is not a cause of concern, source said. Sounds like just a sprain, which makes this week uncertain but no long-term issues.

This is certainly an encouraging sign for San Francisco. Although Pettis has largely struggled to etch out a significant role for himself in the passing game this season, they are going to need all the help they can get if they hope to keep up with the high-powered Baltimore offense.

Pettis has endured his fair share of struggles trying to build on a promising rookie campaign. His modest production is indicative of his small role s a target for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. While this offense has put an emphasis on establishing the run and throwing the ball when they need too, that could prove to be much more difficult against this formidable Ravens' defense.

There is understandably plenty of hype surrounding this showdown since many have pegged it as an early preview of this year's Super Bowl. The team that manages to come out on top will be making quite the statement down the final stretch of the regular season.
