The San Francisco 49ers got off to a hot start in their Monday Night Football showdown with the Los Angeles Rams, thanks in large part to Jimmie Ward making life hard for LA quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Ward pulled off two interceptions in the first quarter of the game, frustrating the hell out of Stafford. The first–which is quite memorable since it's his first INT since 2016–came early in the first quarter when the Rams QB attempted a deep pass, only for it to end up directly on Ward.

The second one was even more amazing. In the final minute of the contest, the 30-year-old safety was once again a thorn on the side of the Rams. Stafford wasn't able to complete what should have been an easy short pass, with Ward going through traffic to snatch the ball away–eventually completing the play for the Pick-6.

As Jimmie Ward shined for the 49ers, though, Matthew Stafford was on the receiving end of mockery on Twitter. After all, it seems like he's passing the ball to Ward instead of his own teammates.
49ers fans just couldn't help but be impressed with Ward and poke fun at Stafford for the interesting development. In a game the Rams were expected to dominate with all the weapons they have, it's surprising to see San Francisco take control early on.
