Florida tight end and top 2021 NFL draft prospect Kyle Pitts had a tremendous reaction to the idea he could be drafted by the San Francisco 49ers with the third overall pick.
Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network shared a clip from his interview with Pitts, during which he asked Pitts about the possibility of going to the Niners at No. 3. Pitts' facial expression seems to give off some combination of both skepticism and intrigue.

Pitts went on to say it would “definitely” surprise him if the Niners took him third overall, adding he believes each of the first four picks could be quarterbacks.
However, the Gators star did say his “heart would fall out” were he to hear his name called by San Francisco.

It does indeed seem incredibly unlikely the 49ers would pivot and take Pitts. All indications are they traded up nine spots so as to select a new quarterback. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said as much during a pre-draft press conference Monday afternoon.
As for Pitts' assertion, the first four picks could be quarterbacks? Well, he could be pleasantly surprised on that front.
There is an increasing amount of buzz suggesting the Atlanta Falcons will take Pitts with the fourth overall pick. That seems all the more likely given Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot has said the team will listen to overtures for star wide receiver Julio Jones.
Pitts might not be the third player off the board. But it seems unlikely he will have to wait long before hearing his name called during the NFL Draft.
