It looks like San Francisco 49ers fans don't have to worry that much on defensive end Nick Bosa.

Bosa is recovering from a torn ACL that forced him to miss all but two games in the 2020 NFL season. There were some concerns if he'll be ready to play for the 49ers when the new campaign starts in September, but head coach Kyle Shanahan eased those fears away.

In his latest update to the media regarding Bosa's recovery and current condition, the veteran head coach believes the 23-year-old pass-rusher is on track to start Week 1, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

“I believe so,” Shanahan said when asked if Bosa will suit up for the 49ers when they pay the Detroit Lions to open their new season. “That's been the plan all along. There's been no setbacks. He's doing great right now.”

The one-time Pro Bowler and former Defensive Rookie of the Year was sensational for the 49ers in his rookie year in 2019, putting up 9.0 sacks, 47 combined tackles and 25 QB hits. He has been deemed as a key cog for San Francisco's defense, so having him back will definitely be a major boost to the team as they try to get back to the Super Bowl.

It remains to be seen what kind of limitations Nick Bosa will have once he returns. However, it certainly appears Shanahan is confident his defensive end will be at 100 percent health when the 2021 season opens.
