San Francisco 49ers fans are finally going to get their first look at their big offseason addition Richard Sherman on Saturday night against the Indianapolis Colts.

Sherman is making a comeback from an Achilles injury he suffered last November and all the talk this training camp has been about how good he feels. There was talk last week that he maybe could debut in week two but the team decided to play it safe and hold him out one more week.

“Those things are feeling great,” Sherman said Wednesday via the Mercury News. “They figured to wait an extra week. I could have played last week. That’s what I was trying to do … Kyle, they, held us back.”

“I’m not concerned about how that’s going to respond. I’m more concerned about my game shape and making sure I can still go every single play, because I haven’t played in eight months.”

Sherman said it's important that he plays in the preseason so the defense can get used to playing together as a whole during the game. If the first chance to play together was week one during the Minnesota Vikings there is a higher chance that something would be messed up. If they can fix those screw-ups during the preseason they will feel more comfortable going against a very good Vikings offense the first week.

“It’s important just for defensive-continuity standpoint, everybody knowing where people are going to be on game day,” Sherman said. “You don’t want the first time you communicate with somebody else to be with live bullets out there.”
