In the past few months, Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens has continued to voice his desire to resume his NFL career even after being out of the game for several years.
Owens once voiced that stance via social media after 49ers general manager John Lynch applauded him by supporting those dealing with Alzheimer disease.
Thanks. I know Jimmy G is gonna need a big play receiver this year at some point. Let's make it happen. #StayReady #VetMin https://t.co/cuHToOZOfE

Although it has been nearly eight years since he last took the field in a regular season game, Owens has kept himself in tremendous shape physically over the years but teams have yet to truly to bring him in. However, he did take part in the workout as a wide receiver for Josh Rosen with the Cleveland Browns prior to the draft. His last season came back in 2010 with the Cincinnati Bengals making 72 catches for 983 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games played.
Article Continues BelowOwen already has an illustrious career place where he earned six Pro Bowl selections, five First-Team All-Pro nods, and led the league in receiving touchdowns three times that he racked up playing for the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals. He currently ranks second all-time with 15,934 receiving yards and his 153 receiving touchdowns rank third.
He also holds all-time NFL records such as being the only player to have an 800-yard receiving season with five different teams. He is also tied with Hall of Famers Marvin Harrison and Jerry Rice with 11 consecutive seasons with at least six receiving touchdowns. He is also tied with former tight end Tony Gonzalez with 15 straight years with at least 700 receiving yards.
There may not be any interest at this point in time, but if the 49ers were to experience a large number of injuries at the wide receiver position, this could spark up as a possibility simply due to his connection to the franchise. Until then, this is just TO making his desire to make a comeback be known once again.
