On Thursday, the Philadelphia Flyers made a big move in hiring John Tortorella as their new head coach. It's an exciting time for the franchise, as the front office hopes the new coaching staff can push the team back into the playoff race next year. However, it appears not everyone is a fan of the hire, as former Columbus Blue Jackets star Brandon Dubinsky weighs in.
Dubinsky took to social media and sent a tweet throwing major shade at the Flyers' new head coach. Of course, the feud between Brandon Dubinsky and John Tortorella built up during their tenure together in Columbus. Apparently, the former Blue Jackets star hasn't had a change of heart since retiring after the 2018-19 season.
🙏🏻 for the @NHLFlyers players!

Regardless, Tortorella has proven to be a solid head coach in the NHL. He has a Stanley Cup under his belt and led the Blue Jackets to the most wins in franchise history during his time in Columbus. Which, Dubinsky was a part of the team in those years. Flyers fans should be excited about the hire, as the veteran coach will implement his winning ways in Philadelphia.
John Tortorella has a tendency to favor young players, which is how he and Brandon Dubinsky had their fallout. The former Blue Jackets center is likely addressing the veteran players on the Flyers roster. We'll see how Tortorella fairs as the new head coach for Philadelphia after signing a four-year deal.
Keep an eye on this Flyers team. They brought in an exciting head coach, even though Brandon Dubinsky thinks otherwise.
