After Team USA lost to Germany 113-111, Noah Lyles made some interesting moves on his X page. The American Track & Field Sprinter went viral after questioning why some fans call teams that win the NBA Finals “World Champions” if they haven't played the best teams in the world.

“You know the thing that hurts me the most is that I have to watch the NBA finals and they have “world champion” on their head. World champion of what? The United States? Don't get me wrong. I love the U.S., at times, but that ain't the world. That is not the world. We are the world. We have almost every country out here fighting, thriving, putting on their flag to show that they are represented. There ain't no flags in the NBA.”

The comment drew the ire of many people, including NBA stars such as Kevin Durant and Draymond Green.

“Somebody help this brother,” Durant said in the Instagram comments section of a post of the video.

Green also commented, saying, “When being smart goes wrong.”

Well, it seems like Lyles might've actually been onto something and wanted it to be known. Lyles took to his X account to like two tweets trolling the Team USA basketball team. One had his head on Avengers villain Thanos's body, saying, “They called me a madman.” The other post he liked was a quote tweet of Bleacher Report posting the loss and Fox Sports 1 “Speak” host Emmanuel Acho tweeting a GIF of Shannon Sharpe, saying, “Somewhere, I know Noah Lyles is like.”

Noah Lyles can surely take a victory lap after Germany's victory today. But, his comments might inspire NBA stars to step up and join Team USA in the 2024 Olympics to prove his assertion wrong.
