Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon certainly had his first game against the Orlando Magic circled on his calendar. Facing his former team at Ball Arena on Sunday, the 25-year-old high-flyer came out firing off the gates as he scored the team's first 12 points.

Here's Gordon collaborating with Nuggets All-Star Nikola Jokic for a nice give-and-go play. AG finished with a nifty left-handed lay-up, as he completely disregarded Dwayne Bacon's defense.

The entire Nuggets team knew Gordon will be up for a statement game against Orlando and made it a point to feed him early on to get him going. So far, that move is paying off since the motivated Gordon has been lighting it up early on.

Aaron Gordon, who came over to the Mile High City over the trade deadline, has fit in perfectly into coach Mike Malone's system. In three games prior to his revenge match versus the Magic, the 6-foot-8 forward has been notching 11.0 points on 57.7 percent shooting from the field for the Nuggets, along with 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals.

AG has owned up to that starting role and has been a factor for Denver on both ends of the floor. By the early looks of it, he'll be gunning for his best game in a Nuggets uniform against his old flame.
