The Denver Nuggets lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder by a score of 108-94 Wednesday. The loss came with some fireworks, as Nuggets guard Austin Rivers got into it with some fans, who were chirping at the Denver reserve. Rivers pointed out the fans to an official and they were immediately escorted from the game, though the former lottery pick had some choice words for the fans after the contest.

This must have been tough for Nuggets guard Austin Rivers to listen to. Rivers, whose father is Philadelphia 76ers head coach and former NBA guard Doc Rivers, comes from a biracial family.

The Nuggets reserve guard said that the two fans were talking about his family the entire game, saying things that Rivers noted he has been hearing since the eighth grade.

Rivers is absolutely right about these fans, who likely thought getting a ticket so close to the court meant that they could do whatever they pleased.

Rivers' point- and it's a very good one– is that those fans wouldn't have been saying those things if they were anywhere else other than a basketball arena, where there is a clear separation between the fans and players.

Fortunately, the Nuggets guard did add that he generally never has such problems with fans. Hopefully for the Nuggets and Austin Rivers, he continues to rarely have such problems with fans.
