The Denver Nuggets decided to exercise a 4th year option on Malik Beasley for the 2018-19 season. Beasley is a high intensity player, his stats don't speak volumes for his talents. Perhaps this play will help showcase the  athleticism that Denver loves about Beasley.

The Denver guard has played in all five games this season for the young, talented Nuggets. Beasley has averaged 4.8 points and 1.6 rebounds for Denver, and offers a nice shot from beyond the arc when needed.

Malik Beasley played in 62 games last year for the Nuggets after multiple stints with the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA's developmental league in his rookie season. He has shown promise in his play for the Nuggets to keep him around and exercise his option.

The former 1st round pick was a stud in his lone season with Florida State averaging 15.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists. Despite his injury history, the Denver Nuggets drafted Beasley 19th overall. Beasley seems to be a work in progress, but all the pieces are there for him to put together.

Beasley finds himself amongst an incredibly talented group of guards in Denver including Jamal Murray, Will Barton, and Gary Harris. His scoring ability is there, and Beasley offers solid defensive ability as well. Beasley's tenacious defensive abilities may get him more minutes this season.

At the end of the 2016-2017, Malik Beasley averaged 16.5  points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in the final two games. The potential is there. It's a matter of Beasley making the most of his minutes and proving why he was taken in the 1st round.
