The Denver Nuggets' Twitter account posted a graphic asking fans to name their favorite player in franchise history. Carmelo Anthony was conspicuously absent from that photo.

The players featured span multiple generations, from Hall of Famer Alex English to Nikola Jokic. Former Nuggets guards Chauncey Billups and Nick Van Exel were also included, as was Dikembe Mutombo.

But ‘Melo, perhaps one of the more notable Nuggets of the last two decades, is obviously missing from the photo.

Needless to say, fans were incensed.

Multiple respondents asked how the player they deem the greatest in Nuggets history was not included.

Another pointed out the fact Anthony is third all-time in scoring among Nuggets players.

Melo spent seven-plus years with the Nuggets after Denver selected him with the third overall pick in the famous 2003 NBA Draft.

The former Syracuse star led the Orange to the NCAA title while having a historic March Madness performance as a freshman, and he quickly established himself as a star in the NBA.

Anthony was a 20-point scorer as soon as he stepped on the court, and he made five different All-Star teams with the Nuggets. Carmelo finished his Nuggets career averaging 24.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists while also asserting himself as one of the deadliest midrange scorers in the game.

The Nuggets never made it past the conference finals with Anthony in tow, and he soured among Nuggets fans by demanding a trade in 2010. But there is no question Anthony is still one of the greatest players in franchise history.
