Nikola Jokic and Juancho Hernangomez make up disparate parts of the Denver Nuggets' supremely engaging young core. Jokic is the team’s MVP-level centerpiece while Juancho is more of a role player who can space the floor on offense and play capable switchable defense.

Though they seem to be firm friends as members of the Nuggets, Hernangomez promised to trash talk his teammate heavily when they face off in the upcoming FIBA World Cup games in China later this summer.

“I think for sure we’re going to play Serbia with Joker. I’m going to try to talk a lot of s— to him,” Hernangomez told Michael Spencer of CBS Denver.

Of course, because the two players will be playing for their home countries of Serbia for Jokic and Spain for Hernangomez, the simple matter of how the two will communicate this trash talk became something of a sticking point. However, Hernangomez unveiled a foolproof plan to get through to Jokic.

“I know all the bad words (in Serbian),” said Hernangomez with a smile. “And I’m going to use them against him.”

Hernangomez played a career-high 70 games with the Nuggets last season, producing career-highs in minutes per game (19.4), points (5.8), rebounds (3.8) and win shares (3.0).

Jokic, on the other hand, had a MVP-caliber season after averaging 20.1 points, 10.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists per contest.
