Nikola Jokic has had quite a remarkable journey throughout his basketball career. From being the 41st overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft to being just one of a handful of all-time greats to win back-to-back MVP titles, there's no doubt that the Denver Nuggets big man has been through quite a ride.

Jokic recently opened up about a hilarious incident that perfectly sums up how underrated he was as an NBA prospect. Some eight years ago, the then-20-year-old Nikola Jokic was drafted by the Nuggets during a Taco Bell commercial. You can't make up these things. Believe it or not, the 6-foot-11 big man saw his NBA dream come to fruition during a commercial break.

Jokic is clearly the type that doesn't take himself too seriously. When asked about this rather embarrassing incident, the Nuggets superstar responded in true Nikola Jokic fashion:

“Hopefully, I’m gonna have some percentage from the Taco Bell,” Jokic said, via Mike Singer of the Denver Post.

Instead of potentially going on a lengthy rant about how the entire basketball world undermined him when he entered the league, Jokic opted to respond in jest. That's just who he is.

Make no mistake about it, however. The Nuggets' cornerstone superstar is dead serious about his basketball. His two MVP titles are clear testaments to this fact.
