After taking a nasty hit to the face in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals against the Portland Trailblazers, Denver Nuggets forward Torrey Craig is expected to be ready to play in Game 3 on Friday, May 3.

The injury took place during the beginning of the second quarter of Game 2. Craig went up for a rebound and was inadvertently whacked right in the face by Zach Collins.

Craig immediately collapsed to the floor as blood gushed from his nose. He was helped off the floor to the locker room, where medical staff stuffed his nose with gauze and gave him a mask to wear. Amazingly, Craig returned to the game in the third quarter.

Some player wouldn't play after suffering a broken nose. It is a testament to Craig's drive and passion that he returned at all. The second-year player has fast built a reputation as a hard-nosed player (no pun intended) who is willing to give his all on every night.

Craig has been an essential piece to the Nuggets, both in the regular season and the playoffs. In the Nuggets nine games, he has averaged 6.6 points and 5.1 rebounds a game, while shooting an impressive 53 percent from the floor.

The overseas veteran has been a reliable starter, an energetic defender, and a serviceable three-point shooter. Hopefully, he can continue his solid play even while fighting through the pain of a broken nose and the presence of a mask.
