Things aren't looking too good for the Denver Nuggets right now. After recently losing Jamal Murray to a season-ending injury, it now appears that Will Barton will be joining him on the sidelines for an extended period.

Barton exited Friday's tilt against the Golden State Warriors with a hamstring problem, and the Nuggets have already confirmed that he won't be returning to the game:

It looked like a non-contact injury for Barton as he was seen limping back to the locker room shortly after the play:

The most concerning bit of news here is that according to Nuggets coach Mike Malone, Barton heard a “pop” when he sustained the injury:

That's not good at all. As the above tweet states, the Nuggets are now in the midst of a full-blown injury crisis. It comes at an awful time with Denver fighting for positioning in the West.

Hamstring problems can be tricky, and based on the initial information that we have here, this could be a real problem for Denver. If Barton is sidelined by this injury then all we can hope for is that it isn't a lengthy one.

I guess the silver lining here is that at least the Nuggets are virtually guaranteed for a playoff spot. It goes without saying, however, that they will be hard-pressed to see significant progress in the postseason without their key players. The loss of Murray is already a tough pill to swallow so hopefully, no one else joins him on the shelf.
