The Denver Nuggets leaned on superstar Nikola Jokic to close out the Orlando Magic on the road. With less than two minutes remaining in the fourth and the shot clock winding down, Jokic drained a fadeaway high-looper to extend their lead at a crucial part of the game.

The shot helped Denver stave off a gritty effort from Orlando.

Jamal Murray then nailed two clutch buckets – a pull-up jumper then a layup – to keep the Magic at bay. Both those shots came off assists from Jokic. With Orlando still threatening to steal the win, Murray nailed two cluth free-throws to ice the game for Denver.

Jokic finished the match with 20 points, seven boards, and four assists. He shot 7-of-14 from the field and nailed three of his seven shots from beyond the arc.

Murray led the Nuggets in scoring with 22 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two three pointers while shooting 7-of-15 from the field and 6-of-6 from the charity stripe. Gary Harris also had a solid outing with 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Despite shooting just 37.0 percent from the field as a team, the Nuggets were still able to carve out the road victory. The win snapped a two-game losing skid for Denver, which won three straight games to begin the season. They are now 4-2 on the young season.

The Nuggets look to carry the momentum on Tuesday when they host Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat at the Pepsi Center.
