It is no secret that Julius Randle was not the number one target for the New York Knicks this offseason. As a matter of fact, he wasn't even number two. In truth, Randle's arrival in New York is more out of unfortunate circumstances for the team rather than a a genuine desire to have him as their new cornerstone superstar.
Nevertheless, it is what it is. For his part, Randle is blocking out all the noise, and instead, promises to just be the best player he can be for his new team this coming season.

Just bring it every night and do everything I can to help my team win. And I'm going to get better as a player. You're never going to have to question my commitment, my effort. You're never going to have to question where my heart is. It's for this team, it's for this city, and that's what it's about.”
He may not be the star the Knicks originally wanted, but it seems that this does not bother Randle at all. At this point, it is clear that he is the player New York deserves — a hard-working individual that is willing to keep his head down and work his butt off for the betterment of the entire team.
