The Tennessee Titans cruised to their seventh victory this season on Thursday Night Football by routing division rival Jacksonville Jaguars, 30-9. In addition to the Jaguars loss they are now eliminated from playoffs entirely. This season has been a nightmare the Jaguars considering one season ago they had reached the AFC Championship game.
With the Titans victory, the Jaguars joined the New York Jets on the list of teams who will not be making the playoffs this season. The Jaguars had arguably the league's top defense last season, but things were drastically different this season as they looked like a completely different unit. For now the Titans playoff hopes are very much alive once more after winning their last two games.
Article Continues BelowThe Jets' on the other hand are in the midst of a very lengthy rebuild and it looks like it may last for several more seasons at the rate that they are playing. New York came out swinging against the Detroit Lions back in Week 1, but they have not looked the same ever since as they can not seem to find any flow of consistency.
The Jets and Jags join the Oakland Raiders as the first AFC teams to be eliminated from playoff contention while the San Francisco 49ers are the sole NFC team to hold this dishonor. The Arizona Cardinals could presumably be the next team to join this group despite their surprising win over the Green Bay Packers last Sunday at Lambeau Field.
