USC and UCLA shocked the Pac-12 on Thursday night after it was announced the two schools will be moving to the Big Ten. It puts the conference in a tough spot, as they lose two massive sporting programs in one swoop. The move isn't official until 2024, but it sounds like commissioner George Kliavkoff is making some plans.

According to Sports Illustrated, the Pac-12 released another statement on Friday. This time focusing on what the conference plans to do moving forward. With rumblings of other schools wanting to move to the Big Ten as well, Kliavkoff needs to act fast to keep his conference relevant. Here is the full statement:

“The Pac-12 Board of Directors met this morning and authorized the Conference to explore all expansion options. The 10 university presidents and chancellors remain committed to a shared mission of academic and athletic excellence on behalf of our student-athletes.”

So, there you have it. The Pac-12 is officially looking to expand with USC and UCLA moving to the Big Ten. It's unclear which schools the conference will absorb, however, there are some solid options available. This of course is speculation, but don't be shocked to hear Boise State, San Diego State, or Fresno State be considered to join the Pac-12.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. The college sports landscape is going through a major shift right now and we could see multiple big-name schools change conferences as well. As for the Pac-12, if they can retain their top programs while acquiring some solid schools, they should stay relevant in the NCAA. If not, well, things could get ugly rather quickly.
