Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo waited nearly a year to return to the hardwood after suffering a ruptured quad injury last January.

Naturally, he would have every right to feel upset after dealing with more knee soreness. Oladipo missed Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs, and he is considered day-to-day due to swelling.

Oladipo will miss his second consecutive game on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks, but he is taking everything with a grain of salt (via ESPN's Cassidy Hubbarth):

While Oladipo would certainly like to be on the floor with his teammates as the Pacers hope to gain some ground in the Eastern Conference, a sense of caution is invaluable.

Oladipo's ruptured quad in that same right knee caused him to miss a full calendar year, and it is very clear his body is still working out the kinks.

The two-time All-Star was averaging 12.0 points while shooting under 37 percent from the filed through his first 10 games. He has looked like a shell of his former self on the floor, and his perimeter shooting has really suffered in his return.

Still, Oladipo was building some optimism prior to this latest setback. He recorded his two highest Game Scores of the season against the Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers, including a 19-point performance against the Cavs in just under 29 minutes of action.

The Pacers could use Oladipo's playmaking for the stretch run, but there is obviously no use in pushing him given the extent of last season's knee injury.

Indiana will bide their time until Oladipo can return, but they hope to get a big win against the Bucks on Wednesday night.
