The Carolina Panthers selected quarterback Bryce Young with the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but their first season with him leading the charge didn't go so well. The Panthers finished last season with a 2-15 record, and that was the worst record in football. Carolina is hoping that Young can take some big strides during this offseason. So far, it sounds like things are going well for him.

Bryce Young didn't meet expectations during his rookie season, but it was just one year. He has time to improve, and the Panthers are hoping that year two is a much better one for the young QB. OTAs just picked up for Carolina, and Young's receivers are saying a lot of good things about him.

He's a great quarterback,” Diontae Johnson said, according to an article from ESPN. ‘Accurate. Smart. He knows how to get his guys in position. Whenever we're out there, you can always count on him to get us in the right spot and make sure everybody knows what they're doing.”

Last season, Young finished the season 315 completions on 527 pass attempts. He threw for 2,877 yards, 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Those numbers aren't going to cut it, and Young knows that. He needs to be better this season.

Tommy Tremble has a lot of good things to say about Bryce Young

Another Panthers player that has been happy with what he has seen from Bryce Young is tight end Tommy Tremble. He has seen some good plays from Young at OTAs, and he noted that he still has his swag.

“Bryce knew his read was open and didn't stare it down,” Tommy Tremble said. “He turned his head and flicked it, and the second the ball left his hand, he turned around, pointed to coach [Dave Canales to say], ‘Completed, man!' He's still got that swag.”

One big thing for Young this season is going to be his confidence. It would be easy for him to get down on himself after last year, but he can't afford to do that. So far, it sounds like his confidence is up.

“He's throwing the ball with confidence,” Tremble continued. “He's not worried about a thousand things like last year. You saw that deep ball to Adam. He's having fun with it. The ball to Diontae towards the end of practice, he knew he'd made the play before the ball even reached the receiver. So you can see that swag confidence. It's exciting, man.”

Having confidence in himself is important, but Young also needs to have confidence in his playmakers. Tremble knows how important that is, and he knows that Young can trust his teammates.

“He's got everyone on the field he can trust that he can get the ball to,” Tremble added. “And having that trust with everybody is going to help him make his decisions and just make the right throw every time.”

This is a big season for Bryce Young and the Panthers. Bad rookie seasons happen, but this is year two for Young, and he needs to show improvement. So far, it sounds like this offseason has been good for him.
